A bit of backstory from us both…
We started this business over 15 years ago. We can hardly believe how far we’ve come since then, both in terms of our own progression and the rapid evolution of the IT industry.
As passionate IT professionals, we’ve always been committed to staying ahead of the curve and keeping up with the latest technology trends. We understand the challenges that businesses face when it comes to managing their IT infrastructure, and we are proud to offer a comprehensive range of managed IT services that help our clients achieve their business goals.
A bit of backstory from Mat
I have always been passionate about technology, starting with my studies in Computer Studies at Stoke on Trent College and Staffordshire University. During my placement at Wedgwood, I realised that businesses used more advanced technology than what was being taught in university. This led me to join Policymaster, a software provider in Birmingham, where I started as a support technician and later became a field service engineer at Sirius, installing systems for insurance and financial companies across the UK. It was during my time at Sirius that I met Steve, who is now my fellow Director at Commercial Networks. As the IT industry shifted to cloud technology, I decided to work as an independent computer consultant, quickly gaining clients and expanding my business. Alongside Steve, I established our own limited company, focused on delivering customer-centric managed IT services throughout the UK. With our growing success, we hired additional staff and recently opened a new office in Newcastle Under Lyme to create a modern and dynamic workspace.
A bit of backstory from Steve
My IT life started when I was training to be an accountant and an IT company rented one of the offices in the building I was working in. I had just past my driving test and asked if I could help them out with an issue with a printer at a customer site. Grabbed my shades and jumped in the directors Rover 820 turbo (I’d been used to an escort 1.8D) and headed south. Got to site fixed the printer and came back, told the director what I had done and he took me to the engineering room and gave me another printer to fix. I fixed this and then he gave me an old green to fix. Fixed that he said “Forget accounts Steve you have a knack for IT” and that’s how my IT life began. Some 28 years later I’ve worked for some large IT Companies and this has given me the experience of looking after our customers and making sure they are using technology that’s out there to help them in their day to day working. Mat asked my to join him March 2014 and from then we have steadily grown the business to what it is today.
